Susan Crawford Placemats
for Scarlett Willow
You don't have to be into your racing to appreciate the amazing talent that is Susan Crawford. As a portrait painter, Susan Crawford has painted five members of the British royal family as well as the Sultans of Brunei and Oman.
However, it is her talent in horse portraiture for which she is best known and is, in this field, almost certainly the most sought after artist of her generation. She has exhibited her work in a number of distinguished galleries throughout the world and Scarlett Willow is proud to 'exhibit' her beautiful paintings on our placemats.
Placemats and coasters are sold in boxed sets of 4 and serving mats in boxed sets of 2.

SERVING MATS:
Best Mate - was a famous English trained racehorse and three-time winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup (2002, 2003, 2004). He is considered to be one of the most loved horses in the history of horse racing.
Persian Punch - was trained in the UK and was frequently heralded by the Racing Post as the most popular horse in training during the final years of his career. He died at the age of 10 and has a lifesize bronze statue erected in his memory at Newmarket Racecourse.
PLACEMATS AND COASTERS:
Northern Dancer - was a Canadian-bred thoroughbred and the most successful sire of the 20th Century. He has been referred to as 'one of the most influential sires in the thoroughbred history'.
Giant's Causeway - is a Kentucky bred thoroughbred who raced primarily in Europe. In 2000, he won five straight Group One races, a performance that won him European Horse of the Year honours.
Sadlers Wells - was sired by Northern Dancer and born in 1981. He had a successful racing career but his greatest success has come as a champion sire. In November 2007, a Sadlers Wells daughter, Playful Act, was sold for a world record priceof US$10.5 million.
Rainbow Quest - born in 1981 and went on to have a successful racing career in Europe and was thought to be one of the best racehorses of his generation. It was no wonder then that Rainbow Quest proved so effective as a stallion.
